New Trader: Lollapalooza
Lollapalooza is owned by Angela Webster, a stay-at-home-mom to two little boys. Because you can only fit so much into one house, Angela has turned her love for collecting fun and interesting vintage pieces into a business.
The word 'Lollapalooza' (lol-la-pa-loo-za) means “A thing that is particularly impressive or attractive.”
This range of 'Lollapaloozas' is sourced in Angela’s historically rich home tome of Howick. The aim is to move away from the stereotypical staid and over-priced traditional antique stall and to create a chance for everyone to find that special retro buy at an affordable price. Assisted by her sister, Hannah, Angela sells pretty old porcelain, glassware, EPNS metalware, old brass and copper items and wooden goods. Added to this, they also sell a lovely range of up-cylced pendants, made using piece of broken vintage porcelain. These have proven to be very popular with customers due to the uniqueness of each individual piece.

New Trader: Oak and Willow
New traders, Oak and Willow will be joining us at the next i heart market on 3rd August at Moses Mabhida.
Oak and Willow make beautiful headboards and art pieces out of reclaimed wooden pallets with inspirational phrases and great colour scheme.
This is the story of how the business started.
"It all started when I got married. I wanted decor and my dad said he'll make it . At the wedding, everyone loved the decor so we decided then that wooden decor could be a feasible business and that we'd start a small business producing hand-crafted wooden decor. All our wood is recycled and we love transforming "scrap wood and nails" into something pretty."
"This is just the start and we already have had numerous orders. My dad makes the wooden boards together with a local from the valley of 1000 Hills. I'd love to see it grow and have the opportunity to employ local underprivileged people and empower them when Oak and Willow grows bigger. I have a huge heart for community and empowering the hopeless through developing their gifts and talents. Through empowerment I really think we could help alleviate poverty and I'm just one in a million doing my part to serve the community and help make a difference in the lives of others particularly the underprivileged." - Janice MacMillan

Rollin Vintage
Ryan and Liesa of Rollin Vintage recently joined us at the market with their ingenius recreations of antique cutlery. Bracelets out of bent forks are not a new idea but Rollin Vintage has taken this craft to a new level of artistic delight.
This is their story in Liesa's words: "Ryan spend a few months in the UK, at one of the markets he saw spoons that were bent all the way around into a ring. He loved the idea and told me about it when he came back. I was disappointed because after he finished telling me about it as i thought he’d whip out one of the rings for me....but he didn’t. He then promised to make me one and the first one he made turned out pretty well and he persisted."
All their jewellery is one of a kind. Even their ring sizes use recycled, out of the ordinary methods to create them. Instead of using the usual jewellery manufacturing ring sizes, they use a range of different sized gear rods from cars to size their rings.
Their persistence has paid off and Rollin Vintage has grown from strength to strength since then. They have recently opened up a shop in Howick and added many new up-cycled vintage treasures to their list of products.
We particularly love their 'Tablescapes' - a mini succulent garden housed inside an old book and their Tin Pendants made from gorgeous old tins with bold retro designs.
Be sure to come and peruse their stall at the next I heart market!
