Top 5 Finds Of The Day

Hi All

When Anna sent me a mail to ask if I'd be interested in writing some guest posts I was super excited. The market is so full of such lovely stuff that it was really hard to decided what to blog about first.

As I had seriously limited time on Saturday, I flew around  like a mad thing and I picked the 5 things that really stood out immediately. Without further ado here are my top 5 finds of the day.

These pegs are super handy for organising things in the office, they're perfect as little gifts and stocking fillers for Christmas time.

I always love Gen's stuff but these rings are amazing. I'm torn between the bunny and the anchor so I'm waiting a month to decide which one to get.

These scarves are beautiful. The fabric gets softer and softer with each wash and they have some lovely delft looking ones. It's my favourite shade of blue.

I'm not sure where I'd put one of these but they're so well made and each one is totally unique. I like the one with the dalmatians in the middle.

Food glorious food. I've got a fat person in me just waiting to get out and if the market was on every day it wouldn't take that long. These muffins and loaves are delicious. Along with all the other food on offer the market is heaven for me.

Being new kids on the block and only having attended one market we are sure to discover many fantastical things, but at the tip of the iceberg:

1) The enormous talent, creativity and imagination on display shows that Durban can proudly complete with any market countrywide
2) The friendliness and camaraderie of the stall holders means we already feel like we’re part of the family
3) The extremely delicious food stalls means we have to use all our self control not to eat our profits!!!!
4) From a stall holders perspective, the people-watching is awe-inspiring (and we thought the beachfront was good!)
5) Finally, that grass underfoot has got to be some of the finest lawn in Durban. To see people chilling out under the trees after a successful day’s shopping ... ahhh, that’s the life.

4. I love meeting the different kinds of people there. On my first market I met a wonderful lady and her daughter that were selling items made by less fortunate people. They were so kind and amazing and they touched my heart with their amazing warmth and they made me feel confident to keep trading.

We thought it fitting that Nadia's contribution introduced our new series: 5 Things I Heart About Market. These are the things that our stallholders say keep them coming back to market, even on days when they aren't working... Check back every day for a new 5 Things post.
